"I create atmospheric watercolor and mixed media works that explore the elegant silhouettes and transformative symbolism of nature as I see it and rural America from my viewpoint. My multi-disciplinary practice blends traditional, fluid watercolor washes with layered, hand-cut fragments of found paper, maps, and textiles to build deep, hidden histories within the subjects. From intimate, dramatic vertical portraiture to a life-sized sculpture emerging with a magnificent span of textile-layered heron wings, my work honors the themes of healing and metamorphosis. This dimensional approach invites viewers to slow down and discover a quiet, nested resilience beneath the surface of the natural world."
